Dorset History Forum

The Dorset History Forum was created in 2007 following an initiative by Dorset County Council's Dorset History Centre [former Records Office]. However the Forum is independent of the County Council and the Library Service. It is managed by a Committee of volunteers appointed by members.

The Forum seeks to provide a link between local history organisations in Dorset, including: societies, individuals, museums, writers and researchers; in order to enable the sharing of interests and information, so to promote research, publication and the development and sharing of knowledge. The Forum produces a Digest, free for members, £1 to public, to aid the sharing of information and awareness of activities by the wide variety of local history groups in Dorset.
